Malayalam superstar Mohanlal unveiled the behind-the-scenes video of his upcoming movie, Barroz, on Wednesday. The video provides a glimpse into the extensive effort invested in crafting this fantasy drama.

The promo begins with an animation hinting at Mohanlal's enigmatic character in the film. It portrays a ghost of a man toying with a diminutive individual, who begins to float in the air when a pin piercing his head is removed. While the scene appears painful and cruel, the smaller character displays an unusual resilience. Despite the imposing presence of the giant, there's an underlying sense of playfulness.

Barroz holds great significance in Mohanlal's career, marking his directorial debut and representing a long-cherished passion project. Mohanlal has spared no effort to ensure that the final product aligns with his grand vision for the film.

Barroz is Mohanlal's dream project

In the behind-the-scenes footage, Mohanlal appears remarkably at ease in his directorial role. His extensive acting experience seems to have prepared him well for the challenges of directing, as he exhibits no signs of stress.

Adapted from filmmaker-writer Jijo Punnoose’s story of the same name, Barroz narrates the tale of a mythical guardian, entrusted with protecting Vasco da Gama’s treasure for over four centuries, awaiting the arrival of Gama's rightful heir.

Positioned as a children’s fantasy drama, Barroz promises to deliver a captivating visual experience and is slated for release in 3D format.

While Barroz is expected to hit the big screens this year, Mohanlal has yet to confirm the movie's release date.

On the career front, Mohanlal's last appearance was in director Lijo Jose Pellissery's Malaikottai Vaaliban, a fantasy drama where he portrayed the role of a legendary warrior. However, the film received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. Malaikottai Vaaliban is now streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
